Up early due to being out of sync.
Went to Lefty O’Douls for breakfast and had an amazing Spanish omlette. If your in the area you should check it out.
Next was a Tram trip during which we saw all the major sights, Union square, Alcatraz, Pier 39, Lombard Street, etc.
Then I went off and got Route 66 for the 6680 we have with us. Setup was quite easy though we had to turn off hidden in Bluetooth so the GPS receiver would pick it.
Its only thrown us off twice, and I only blame it for one of them:
- On the freeway we were on was under roadworks and so it though we had taken an Exit when infact we hadn’t though we were back on track within 15 seconds.
- The second time it thought we were in the middle of a block when we were driving down a road. This time it took about 30 seconds to recover and get us back on track which nearly caused a crash as the spoken instructions were way off.
Two other things are:
- It’d be nice if there was an option (though there may be one I haven’t found) where it gives a “bong” and a second of a pause before the voice instructions are issued as a few times we missed an exit due to talking in the car and missing the instruction.
- When you are coming to a pedestrian area it tells you something along the lines of: “In 100 meters, go straight ahead” which is slightly idiotic.
Took a tour around in the car and saw the Japanese Tea Gardens and the Golden Gate Bridge.
Had dinner in Sears and crashed out early again.
